Ahh time flies

So on Thursday I took all four kids to the dentist to have cleanings done. Now I have a soft spot for this dentist as he has seen all of my kids from a young age. Vicki was two the first time she went. When the children go for the first time they get a picture taken and it goes on his board for a month then into there file. I was able to see Vicki's picture and it took me back. So was so cute with her chubby little cheeks. Oh I just wanted to eat them. It was a fun experience to see her then and see her now. Wow what happened where did 8 more years go. How did she get to be ten and 54 inches tall. I swear she was just little not to long ago. Now to take all four kids its a while time. And best of all only one with cavities HOORRAAAYYYY we have really soft tooth enamel in my family and cavities are a huge problem. Hopefully the brushing, flossing, and fluoride rinse will keep the kids from my fate.

I did it.

So it is Tuesday not Sunday and this is late but whatever. I had to do one of the most awful thing I can imagine I had to speak in church. I will say I would rather see the dentist with no numbing agent than speak in church. I can teach in front of small groups but large groups particularly once that know way more than I do freak me out. Give me a topic like psychology and I would have been fine but repentance, ugh. I prayed and prayed for snow. Guess what didn't happen. So instead I wrote my talk and read it. Its easier for me. Now compound the fact that I have had a sinus infection for weeks that keeps draining my sinus's down the back of my throat making me sick to my stomach and the nerves on top. I really thought I might vomit. Not a pretty thing and very hard to explain. But thankfully I didn't and I am done for the next 7 or 8 years I hope. Ugh now back to my normal routine of housework, homework, girl scouts, and activity days.

Laman and Lemuel

**this post comes with a disclaimer, if you are not LDS you may not understand the reference but I would be happy to loan you a copy of the book so you can make sense of it.

So in church on Sunday I am finally in the big people class and I have to pretend like I listen and know what the heck they are talking about. For a few you it will come as no surprise that my mind works a little bit differently than other people. I know I know for the rest its a big shocker.

Well in the big people class aka Gospel Doctrine we are discussing the Book of Mormon and we have spent a lot of time discussing Laman and Lemuel, and I have to say I identify with these guys a lot. We see so many examples of how they screw up and have to repent. Many say well they saw angels, they received visions, and still they did bad things. Then I think about myself, well I have angels IE my children, I have seen miracles, my family has been front and center for several, and still some I just stink at the things I should be doing. You know those of you who are LDS read your scriptures, say your prayers, go to church, pay your tithing. And the biggest one of all I murmur (hanging my head in shame) I complain either in my head or out loud. Then I get a reminder of what I should be doing, say oh crap I did it again and repent.

So that in a nut shell is why Laman and Lemuel are my hero's they do all kinds of things they shouldn't and amazingly the lord allows them to repent and try again. And I am thankful for my strange brain that makes me grateful for the bad dudes in the scriptures.

I don't want to grow up.

I remember from my childhood the ToyRus song
"I don't want to grow up I'm a ToyRus kid. There's a million toys at ToyRus that I can play with. "

Having been to ToysRus there really is a million toys there. So yesterday we were out running errands as its the only Tuesday for a long time where I do not have a commitment. So we hit Ikea to pick up a better storage system, and then we swung by ToysRus so the kids could use there birthday, and Christmas money. We spent over an hour in the store and the kids wandered, and pondered, and dreamed big. In the end everyone got something and was very happy with it. Vicki got new Pixos, Zoe got new pets, Scarlett got the giant Tangled doll she wanted, and Tristram got a doctors outfit and a Marble thing.

The kids had a ball, and Scott and I had fun putting the Marble race together. Then we figured out it worked to  well the one and off switch didn't work. It was stuck on. We quickly swapped it out and spent tonight putting together the Marble Maze. Well he put it together I bathed kids. Now everyone has enjoyed the fun of watching the marbles go all over. I think this will be a cool toy for years to come.

Great quote

An old Cherokee told his grandson, "my son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies & ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy & truth" The boy thought about it and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins? The old man quietly replied "The one you feed"

Which one are you feeding?

Holy crap who said my baby could turn three.

Well folks he has lived to be three. Yes it is very shocking. Well at least I am shocked. With the amount of activity he has. He climbs, jumps, and just does strange boy stuff. My personally favorite over this last week was him trying to stick a knife in the socket. He had managed to pull out a light plug cover and got busted by dad just before he put in the butter knife. Well he has turned three he decided he wanted plates with spongebob for his birthday. So we had some great cupcakes and opened gifts and he was happy as can be. He was so happy to have cupcakes with sponge bob. His favorite gift was the giant Buzzlight year, and all his Cars cars.

She's is eight

This post is a little late but school is kicking the crap out of me. Well on the 20th my sweet little Zoe turned 8. She spent the entire month of December trying to decide what she was going to do for her birthday. She has a huge artistic ability and loves anything art. She loves to paint, color, and make anything. So for a while she thought we would do a art party then she suprised me with wanting to go to Midevil Times in Maryland. We had a small birthday party for her with family on her birthday then the next night we went and a had great time eating, and josting.

My little Zoe is sweet, spunky, creative, sensitive, shes always been different. From the day she was born the large eyes she had captivated my heart. I just love my not so little Zoe.
